When it comes to green tea extract the benefits are insanely long. For this reason I going to do my best to talk about some of the most powerful benefits that this herb can give. Green tea comes from the plant Camellia Sinensis which originated around China, however nowadays it grown all over the world. How the leaves are processed really determines what type of tea it is. For instance, green tea is created from steamed leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant. White tea has the least processing while black tea is the most processed and has the most caffeine. Oolong tea uses a traditional method to manufacture the tea. Also herbal teas don actually come from the Sinensis plant however they come from water and dried fruits, spices and various herbs.
What gives Green Tea it most powerful benefits is the flavonoids and antioxidants in it. Specifically an antioxidant called EGCG which is extremely powerful. Antioxidants are compounds that have an extra electron in it so when it runs into a free radical which is missing an electron the free radicals stops doing harm to someone body. Due to this process one of the major benefits of this herb is that it can slow down the aging process and enable someone to live a longer life. In a study done with nearly 20 people scientist gave half of the group two cups of tea every day for four weeks. The other group received a placebo drink that did not have any tea in it.

At the end of the study the group that received green tea had a 20 percent reduction in dna damage in their body. Dna is a substance which is found in every cell in the body and is responsible for determining how things are created sort of like a blueprint for a building. When something damages the dna it can lead to alterations of organs such as wrinkles on someone skin.

Another major benefit of this nutrient is that it can reduce someone chance of heart disease and a stroke. Heart disease is the number cause of death in the U.S. and is usually caused by a clogged artery which prevents blood from reaching the heart resulting in a malfunction and the heart to stop beating. A stroke is the same thing except blood doesn someone brain. Tea can help reduce these two ailments by keeping someone arteries from getting blocked. It can also help lower someone cholesterol which can contribute to an artery blockage and it may increase good cholesterol which is called HDL that can also help remove blockage. A study done in the Netherlands concluded that drinking 2 to 3 cups of tea daily can give someone a 70 percent lower risk of a heart attack compared to people who didn drink any tea.

Green tea can also assist with keeping someone bones strong. One of the leading causes of death in people over the age of 65 is falling down due to weak bones. Elderly woman are especially vulnerable to osteoporosis due to menopause and about 1 in 2 women will get this ailment after the age of 65. Green tea can help with making bones strong and preventing osteoporosis by helping grow bone formation and slow its weakness according to some studies done in Hong Kong.
